Easy Apple Kitchen Decorating

Apple designs make for great kitchen decorating. That bright cheery look of either red or green apples surely is a lively look. And redecorating your kitchen does not require a heavy work load and lots of expense. In fact, there are very simple and inexpensive accents that can turn any style or color kitchen into an apple theme.

A Starting Place

If you start with picking a place on the wall that could use a little charm, all you have to do is add wall decals in an apple theme. Place a wall clock in the center and you have a delightful vignette of apple wall decorations. That makes a great start.

Then add other easy accent pieces, like a canister set, a cookie jar, a set of chair pads and finish off with a floor mat or rug in an apple design. See, I told you we were talking easy and inexpensive.

Keeping It Simple in the Kitchen

Of course you could go all out and repaint or add wallpaper if you really want to change your whole kitchen. But, you can see it's not necessary. Simple accents and accessories can bring your apple theme to life in your kitchen.

Frankly, I enjoy starting with a few accent pieces and adding to them when I want a little change-up. It's a little easier on the budget and gives me new excitement every time I add a new piece. That's the best part of a welcoming apple kitchen - those little extra changes.

Themes for Apple Kitchen Decor

If you think an apple designed kitchen is a theme by itself, then you may only be partly right. Going from basic apple to a more detailed theme is an easy move.

There are a number of options to take your apple kitchen even further with a theme. Pick a Theme for Your Apple Kitchen goes into more detail about how to create the different looks that you can work with.

Find out about creating a country apple look. What goes into that and how to add accessories and accents that make your kitchen into a more country effect.

If you are more of vintage or antique type of person, you may very well prefer to go with your apple kitchen in a vintage style. Yep, the article describes that theme as well.

But, some people like a more modern look. The sleek and clean effect with lots of apple decor makes for a beautiful look in your kitchen.

And, of course, you can go with all of them or just a fun mix-up, called an eclectic style. That's a fun theme since you don't worry about whether an accent piece that you love matches. You just choose what you love!

So think a little further about how you want to decorate your apple kitchen. If a theme works for you then go with it!

Serving or Decorating With Apple Dishware

If you are looking for new ways to add decor to your apple themed kitchen, then I have something for you. My apple kitchen just got a bit of a makeover. Yes, I get bored with my decor quite often so I like to change things around.

I have a nice set of apple dishware. It includes 4 dinner plates, 4 salad plates and 4 cups with saucers. I had kept them stacked on an open shelf in my kitchen, but rarely used them. When I realized that I could incorporate them into my decorating, I was thrilled.

You see, the look of their pattern is different than my other apple accessories. This made for a whole new look to my decor.

What I did was to set up one large plate with a cup and saucer sitting in front of it on a small shelf in my kitchen. Then I added a plastic apple alongside the saucer. It was such an easy way to change up my wall decor in my kitchen.

But I also used one of the dinner plates as part of my centerpiece on the dining table. I just filled it with red and green apples, like a fruit basket. What a difference that made.

It's simple things that can really refresh the look of your apple kitchen decor. You don't have to go crazy with a whole new decorating look to achieve a change. Just switch out a few of your current accessories, maybe add in a new one or two items and you have it!

That's my kind of kitchen decorating - simple, easy and inexpensive! So go ahead and make use of your apple dishware, not just for serving food, but also for decorating!

Bring Red Accents into Your Apple Kitchen Decor

If you are using red as part of your Apple Kitchen color scheme, then red accents can help you carry the decor. The many various shades of red can accommodate just about anyone's taste. Think of the colors of dark red for those who like a richer color scheme. Bright red works well as a bold accent, while the paler shades of red, even pink, make great subtle accents.

Red accents can include many different items in your kitchen. Red small appliances that sit out on your counter, red placements or table linens for your eating table, even red-painted trim for your open kitchen shelving can add the kind of accents that will make your Apple Kitchen come alive.

You are not limited to having only those things that actually have photos or images of apples on them. You can create the decor with red accents.

So feel free to indulge your enjoyment of the apple look, without feeling like you are overwhelmed with apples. Red accents can help you decorate with style.

Apple Kitchen Wall Clocks

Apple kitchen designs tend to start with wall clocks for me. A kitchen needs a clock. At least my kitchen does.

How many times a day do you look at a clock? Is it time to get the kids off to school? Time for them to come home? Time to leave for that appointment? Time to put away the craft project and get dinner started? Clocks in our busy schedule are just a must have. So why not use that must-have to help in your Apple Kitchen decorating?

Apple Wall Clocks can be the centerpiece in a vignette of decorating. Think about placing your wall clock in a handle-to-see place on the wall, then adding a small shelf just above which will hold an Apple Cookie Jar and an Apple Mug. Presto - you have a charming decorating vignette.

A good friend of mine has such an amazing Apple Kitchen that I even put together an article on many of the Apple decorating items I would like to pick out for her kitchen. She's already given me the short list of those items she would most love to receive. I have her gift-giving taken care of for several more years!

Who else, besides you, can use a new or additional Apple Kitchen Wall Clock?

Decorating Styles for an Apple-themed Kitchen

Better Homes and Garden - bhg.com
When you are ready to start thinking about redecorating your kitchen, and you have chosen to go with an apple theme, you also need to think about what style you will go with. Wait, you say, isn't apple-theme my style? Sorry, the answer is no. There is much more to decorating an apple kitchen.

Are you going to go with vintage? Maybe modern? How about country? Even retro or eclectic are all possible styles to consider.

Full redecorating will include repainting, or wallpapering, new flooring, cabinets and counter tops, maybe even new large appliances. Then you start adding in the decorations that will bring your apple-theme to life. So you really need to think about style.

A vintage look is all about things from by-gone eras. You can pick just one era and run with that, or mix up eras to create a fun vintage look. Country Apple is a style all it's own. A country look to your kitchen can include a farmhouse effect, or a more romantic effect. Modern is an easy one to achieve with clean lines and minus frills.

But, what about eclectic? Also not a problem. With this style, start by picking something that you like, then don't worry about what the style is. Keeping going with those things that cause you to say wow. Eclectic can bring some pizzazz to your apple kitchen.

So start thinking about decorating styles for your apple-themed kitchen. Then enjoy the fun of shopping. After all, who doesn't love to shop?

Apple Colors for an Apple Kitchen

What colors go best in your apple kitchen? Well, the colors of apple, of course. Not just red, although that goes so well in an apple kitchen. Consider the other colors of green and yellow as well. Apples do come in all shades of red, green and yellow. Think about Gala and Fuji apples that seem to have each of those colors in their skins. And they all seem to be inviting you to bite in and enjoy.

At Apple Kitchen Stuff, we have been spending May talking about putting together your color schemes in the apple colors. You start with a main color then add in your accent colors. These can be either complimentary or contast. Whether you start with red as we did here, or start with green as with did on this article, you can add the other colors in one or two combinations.

What you are looking for is a color scheme that gives you room to add your apple accent pieces, like wall clocks and cookie jars and have the look come together for you. Adding in a small rug with an apple design also pulls the look together.

You can go with strong and bold colors or muted and subdued. With a muted background color like golden yellow and strong red or green accent colors can make a wonderful way to put together your apple kitchen look. Think of Granny Smith apples for that bold green.

And don't leave out pink. Apple blossoms are pink and can add a wonderful way to accent a green main color choice. Also, Braeburn apples have a glow of pink to their skin, so you know your apple kitchen will have a delicious look to it.

Apple Kichen Decor

Jeanne's Apple Chair Pads
Apple-themed kitchens seem to be a favorite of many people and I'm not an exception. I love the look of apple accents in my kitchen. Some things are so simple - just a cookie jar, a teapot and some apple-adorned dish towels. But, you can also be like my friend Jeanne and go all out.

She has apple wallpaper, apple rugs, apple chair pads, apple lamps. I could go on and on by I think you get the picture. Her kitchen is warm and inviting with all the homey touches of apple stuff around her room. She may have a very eclectic look with vintage, modern and whimsical all mixed together, but it works well.

Some people don't want to go completely one style or another, but like the mix. Personally, I am a fan of vintage, but my house doesn't really support a vintage look. So I do mix up some of style, just to be able to blend in well with the rest of my house.

At Apple Kitchen Stuff, we have found some charming ways to get that effect in your own kitchen. We're sharing tips, suggestions and ideas with you, plus plenty of apple kitchen stuff to create your own designs.
