Adding Coca-Cola Stuff to Your Retro Kitchen

Retro kitchens can always benefit from at least a few Coca-Cola items. In the 1950's Coke was a popular product and the diner looks happily advertized the soda all over the place. Plenty of wall signs, advertising items and even the functional diner plates.

Coca-Cola and the Retro kitchen seem to go easily hand in hand. The bold red that Coke uses for it's iconic symbol is a color very popular in the retro look. So the decorating items can go very well with your color scheme.

But, if you have chosen one of the other great mid-century colors, like pink, aqua blue, yellow, even orange, you can still add Coca-Cola memorabilia for a strong accent color. Plenty of the advertising items from that period didn't feature that bold red. Instead, they used their name and an iconic image of a happy 1950's housewife.

You don't have to go digging through old attics and basements or scour through antique malls or flea markets. Retro Coca-Cola stuff is being reproduced currently. Easy to get, no cleaning or refurbishing needed and could be lots less expensive for you.

So go ahead and add Coca-Cola stuff to your retro kitchen. The look is fun and the effect is definitely that great mid-century classic.

Country Apple Wall Clocks for the Kitchen

If country apple is a theme you love, then you may want to add a wall clock to your kitchen decor. The looks of country decor can create a warm and enjoyable effect in your kitchen.

Adding a wall clock is always a fun way to create more decor. Let's face it. Our lives are governed by the time of day. No matter what we try to do, we watch the time regularly. We need to get to work on time, we need to pick up the kids on time, we need to serve dinner on time. We look at clocks regularly.

So why not use a clock that will help with your decor? I found so new designs that work very well with a country kitchen look. Whether you have a more bold idea in mind or the classic country, an apple wall clock can work for you.

I have even found a darling personalized option. My own kitchen has it hanging above a shelf with several other apple accent pieces. The look is cute and the effect is just what I want.

Even if you aren't the one with the apple kitchen, a wall clock makes a great gift idea. After all, who can't enjoy another clock in their home?

Fat Chef Anti-fatigue Kitchen Mat

How much time do we end up spending in the kitchen? Lots of time, especially at the sink. We wash dishes, we clean and cut fruits and vegetables, we prepare other kinds of foods. That turns out to be lots of standing in the kitchen.

Save your back and your legs with an anti-fatigue kitchen mat for your Fat Chef theme. Of course there are great options to use this fabulous floor rug in your decorating.

That's one of the things I do love. Functional and decorative. A fat chef anti-fatigue mat is perfect for that. Besides looking just great in the kitchen theme, it also helps prevent sore back and legs by cushioning your feet while you stand for long periods of time.

Apache Mills makes the best one I have found. The rug has a charming fat chef running around the kitchen. But the mat itself is made from a great compressed rubber material. The support is wonderful while it's not so thick that you end up tripping over it all the time. That's why I like the anti-fatigue mats this company makes.

If you have a Fat Chef kitchen theme, you will appreciate the value of the anti-fatigue mat and the little chef guy image. This is a great combination.

Consider Before You Buy Small Appliances

We all love to use small appliances in our kitchen. They make the job of preparing food and cooking food easier. Each is designed to have a specific job in our kitchen.

Some are basics like coffee makers and toasters, but others are wonderful for convenience sake. Before you decide to add a new small appliance to your kitchen, consider a few things.

How will you use it. Will it be one of those appliances that needs counter space because you use every day? Will it be used only a few times a week, so it needs to be handy, but doesn't need to sit out? What about those appliances that are only used a few times a year?

Where will you store your new appliance? Do you have the space in your cupboards or pantry? Maybe a closet has space available if you only need to use it for those big holiday dinners.

In most kitchens, storage space is at a premium. For some kitchens, even counter space is limited. So you need to think about where your new appliance will go.

Many small appliances for the kitchen come in a variety of styles and sizes. Consider how you will use your new appliance and therefore what size or style will be best for you.

Taking a few things into consideration before you purchase will help you make a better decision. You will be happier with your new small appliance and will use it to its fullest advantage to help you prepare your food.
