How to Create Decorating Vignettes for An Apple Kitchen

Better Homes and Garden - www.bhg.com
When you are decorating your apple-themed kitchen, consider placing vignettes around your room. Most people have never heard of vignettes, other than professional decorators. But, it's nothing to fear. Vignettes are simply groupings of a few items together in an otherwise unused portion of your kitchen.

Think about the ends of your counter space, corners of your eating area, even walls. Pick a few, maybe three or four, items and group them into these unused areas. An end of your counter top can include useful items as well. Let's say you have a bright red standing mixer, set that on your counter and add an apple decorated serving bowl, or a couple of mugs. Then set up behind your mixer an apple decorated plate. Presto, a great vignette that carries your apple theme.

Using a small corner table, you can set up a vignette that is mostly for display. A plant as the centerpiece sounded by decorative apple items. Even a small bowl filled with artificial apples set next to your plant can be a great way to decorate your corner table or side board.

When you are considering what to hang on your walls, think about grouping things together. Add a small shelf under your apple wall clock and add an apple candle and an apple-decorated mug. Wall vignettes also work well with corners. Set several items on one wall set close to the edge, then add one or two other items to the other wall, again close to the edge. This will bring a flow from one wall to another.

So start thinking about using vignettes to help decorate your apple kitchen. Your look will be enhanced and your decorating will be charming.
